The Wall Street Journal just released a bombshell report exposing Donald Trump for a cheating scandal involving Playboy‘s 1998 “Playmate of the Year,” Karen McDougal.
According to the WSJ report, The National Enquirer paid McDougal $150,000 for exclusive rights to her story. McDougal claims that she and Trump had an affair from 2006 to 2007. He was married to his current wife, Melania Trump, during those years.
The National Enquirer did confirm the payment, however, the periodical claims it was for a column. David Pecker, the CEO of American Media Inc. (the owner of the Enquirer), and Donald Trump are reportedly friends.
via the WSJ:
“In a written statement, the company said it wasn’t buying Ms. McDougal’s story for $150,000, but rather two years’ worth of her fitness columns and magazine covers as well as exclusive life rights to any relationship she has had with a then-married man. AMI has not paid people to kill damaging stories about Mr. Trump,’ the statement said.”
Of course, a Trump spokesperson responded to the story claiming it was “totally untrue.”
