Moroccan substitute, Rachid Aliou’s 25 yard shot was enough to see the Ivorian Elephants out of the 2017 African Cup of Nations’ competition.
Ivory Coast came into the game needing a win after picking two points from their first two games in the African Cup of Nation 2017. Wilfred Zaha came close to scoring but had his effort from 12 yards parried away.
Former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou came close with a fine header but could not find the net.
However, Herve Renard who led Ivory Coast to success in 2015 – now with Morocco his plan worked out.
Morocco finished second in the group after DR Congo beat Togo 3-1 in the other game of the African Cup of Nations, 2017.
