Gender Minister Otiko Djaba has visited the premises of the Abelenkpe branch of Marwako following the inhumane treatment meted out to a Ghanaian worker by a Lebanese supervisor.
Ms Otiko was accompanied by the Labour minister on a visit to the Abelenkpe premises of Marwako on Tuesday.
The gender minister has said that she is taking the matter seriously and will deal fairly with it.
An investigation has been launched into the assault by Labour minister Ignatius Baffour Awuah to which results is expected within a week.
Evelyn Boakye, a kitchen staffer at the Abelenkpe branch of Marwako Fast Food Ltd was face dipped into pepper paste by her immediate boss – Jihad Chaaban.
The treatment which lead to a hashtag creation – #boycottMarwako has attracted a widespread of condemnation across the country especially on social media worldwide.
Although the Lebanese expatriate has rendered an apology to Ms Evelyn, the victim finds it necessary unwanted.
“I wish personally to sincerely apologise to you for the incident on the night of 26 February 2017 at our Ablenkpe place of work,”
“True to God, all I sought to do was to point you to something I found wrong. I admit I was angry a bit at the moment and saw you panic and accidentally resulting in the pepper splashing onto your face.I very sincerely regret the incident and apologise to you,”
